Weathervane Playhouse Workshop: Finding Beauty in the World Around You

FINDING BEAUTY IN THE WORLD AROUND YOU Grades 3-5

April 8, 15, 22, 29 and May 6, 13 4:30-6:00pm

Participants will be encouraged to search for beauty in the world around them, even in the unlikeliest places. Activities include:

Photography
Scavenger hunts
Observing nature and the environment
Sun prints from found objects
Image transfers
Art-making

Participants will learn about color, light, subject, and composition. Even more important is the overarching theme that we have a lot of control over how we choose to interpret our surroundings. Do you see only darkness or do you choose to search for the light?

*a digital camera is required (DSLR, point and shoot, or even a cell phone camera if image quality is not a concern
