Tuesday, May 10, 7pm: “Global Sounds” presented by Dr. Ron Emoff -Professor School of Music & Department of Anthropology, OSU Newark- In Dr. Ron Emoff's professional training has learned to perform music from Madagascar, Marie-Galante in the French Antilles, West Africa, southwest Louisiana, Ireland, the Appalachian region, and many other places. This evening he performs on several different instruments, relating stories about musical practices and people from around the globe. Instruments include: West African kora, Arab oud, Malagasy valiha, kabosy, accordion, Cajun accordion, mandolin, violin, & guitars.
