The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology presents "inside the edges/outside the lines," an exhibit featuring work from members of The Women's Palette. The exhibit will open to the public on Friday, Oct. 23, with a free artist's reception from 5-7 p.m. at The Works Main Gallery, 55 S. 1st Street, Newark, Ohio 43055. The Women's Palette was established in 1978 to recognize professional women artists living and working in central Ohio. The purpose of the group was to give women access to opportunities to exhibit and promote excellent works of art. The group's members are recognized and respected professionally; each member holds signature status in at least one national professional art organization. Women's Palette artists work in a variety of styles and media. Featured artists: Suzanne Accetta, watercolor; Bess Alexander, watercolor; Christiane Curry, watercolor; Valerie Dunning Edwards, sculpture (paper, wire, wood), acrylic; Jane Heller, acrylic; Karen LaValley, oil; Sally Ford Lyles, watercolor; Merry Gant Norris, acrylic/gold leaf; Jeny Reynolds, collage and reverse glass painting; and Susie Schreiber, watercolor. Jane Heller and Jeny Reynolds were the original curators of The Works Art Gallery, formerly located on Second Street in the space now occupied by Chicago Title. The late Howard LeFevre, founder of The Works, asked the pair to start the gallery in 2002."inside the edges/outside the lines" will remain on display until December 23, 2015.
