The Denison University International Studies Program welcomes Phyllis Bennis, presenting a lecture, titled "Understanding ISIS and the New Global War on Terror" at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the lecture hall of the Burton D. Morgan Center (150 Ridge Road). The lecture also is sponsored by the departments of religion, history and political science and is free and open to the public. Bennis directs the New Internationalism Project at the Institute for Policy Studies, working as a writer, activist and analyst on Middle East and United Nations issues. She is also a fellow at the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam. She writes and speaks widely across the U.S. and around the world as part of the global peace movement. She has served as an informal adviser to several top UN officials on Middle East and U.N. democratization issues. Bennis is the author of "Understanding the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict" and "Understanding ISIS and the New Global War on Terror."
