The Martins and the Porters were ?the best of friends,? but now their relationship is hilariously deteriorating into guerrilla warfare. As each couple seeks to retaliate for the latest ?slight,? the tactics get more and more outrageous, until one of them finally goes too far. Like the comedies of Oscar Wilde and Noël Coward, ?Best of Friends? skewers middle-class pretensions and social relationships in a deliciously wicked way. Beth and John Martin are played by first-year student Elizabeth Underwood and sophomore Gabe Schenker. Hannah and Ken Porter are played by senior Kate Ramsdell and sophomore Davis Cameron. Directing the production is Geoffrey Nelson, visiting assistant professor of theatre. Associate professor Peter Pauzé is the scenic and lighting designer, technical director Andrew Johns is the sound designer, and Vail Artist-in-Residence Elizabeth Bourgeois is designing the costumes. Senior Alex Woroncow is the stage manager, assisted by first-year student Yihan Wang.
