Denison University's Title IX Office in collaboration with the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration welcomes Bhoke P. Mukami, founder and executive director of Shield Our Watoto, for a presentation about the prevention of child sexual abuse. Shield Our Watoto (SOW) is a nonprofit organization that works to create a global dialogue among stakeholders about child abuse and molestation through education and empowerment. Working to create a sustainable mechanism to implement established best practices that will allow children to live and develop in a safe environment, SOW focuses its efforts in Tanzania and with Tanzanians in Columbus to break down cultural barriers that perpetuate assault among children. Mukami will discuss the organization's work and ways that students can get involved with internship opportunities.
