Denison's Queer Night presents a screening of "Victim," the first English-language film to use the word homosexual. "Victim" tells the story of a barrister fighting to protect gay men from blackmail. An early call for the legalization of homosexuality, this film (suppressed in the U.S. by the Motion Picture Association of America) helped pave the way for the 1967 changes in British law that decriminalised homosexual acts. This event is part of Queer Night (QS238), a class offered by the Denison Queer Studies program. Members of the public and the campus community are welcome to join our students in the screening and discussion.
