The Department of Cinema presents a preview screening of 'Not Welcome,' a film by Denison alumni Marc Sloboda, Mike Palzkill, Jay Hurst and Brian Crush, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Cinema House (201 North Mulberry Street). The screening is free and open to the Denison and Granville communities. For more information, visit Denison.edu. After graduating Denison in 2009, the four alumni formed Family Squid, Inc., a Chicago based production company. They produced several short films and commercials before they wrote, directed and produced "Not Welcome" as their company's first feature film. The film is slated to premiere in 2016.
Film synopsis: A couple suspects that their McMansion might be haunted. In actuality, the ghost is a 30 year-old failure who has occupied vacant rooms for years without their knowledge. So begins an absurd turf war in this comedy of errors populated by psychics, private investigators and spirits.
