The Black Studies Program welcomes artist, activist and poet Mama Charlotte O'Neal giving a talk and a performance from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by a reception from 8 to 8:30 p.m. An esteemed poet, musician, visual artist, and former member of the Black Panther Party, O'Neal has become a champion for social justice for the past 20 years as the founding director of Tanzania's United African Alliance Community Center, an organization dedicated to promoting community development in rural Tanzania.
