The Department of Communication presents screening of "Fixed: The Science/Fiction of Human Enhancement" at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, at Higley Hall (100 Ridge Road). A question and answer session with filmmaker Regan Brashear will take place after the screening. The film is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Bill Kirkpatrick at 740-587-8512 or visit Denison.edu. "Fixed" takes a close look at the drive to be "better than human" and the radical technological innovations that may take us there. What does "disabled" mean when a man with no legs can run faster than most people in the world? What does "normal" mean when cosmetic surgery procedures have risen over 450 percent in the last fifteen years? A question and answer session with filmmaker Regan Brashear will take place after the screening. Brashear's visit is co-sponsored by the departments of biology, communication, English and psychology, with participation by the Queer Studies Program.
