The Women’s and Gender Studies Film Festival presents a screening of the documentary “Radio Kobani,” moderated by Isis Nusair, associate professor of women’s and gender studies and international studies at Denison. Out of the smoke and dust of battle came Radio Kobani, the brainchild of 20-year-old Dilovan. She is a young Kurdish woman from Kobani who took it upon herself to document the final days of Islamic State control, and the stories of the refugees returning to their flattened homes. The film festival takes place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evenings from March 13 to April 24, in Slayter Auditorium. The films include: “Radio Kobani” on March 13, “After Tiller” on March 27, “As I Open My Eyes” on April 3, “The Uncondemned” on April 10, “The Apology” on April 17, and “AWOL” on April 24.
