The Department of Studio Art welcomes Elizabeth Orr, artist-in-residence, for the Ohio premiere of her new film "MT RUSH." "MT RUSH" is a near-future science fiction film chronicling the day-to-day activities of a female Mt. Rushmore Park Ranger as she navigates an onslaught of interactive fundraising emails that appear on a transparent interface in the months leading up to the current presidential election. The narrative arch of the movie is based on the urgent, alarmist, and oddly personalized campaign and fundraising emails from the Democrats and Republicans. Serving as both narrator and foil to the ranger, the emails perform the politics of emergency so pervasive in today's systems of governance.
