Denison University welcomes the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company presenting an “informance” of their work “Body Talk.” Ten members of the company will perform solos and duets from their program and offer thoughts, process, inspiration, themes of the individual piece and its fit within the larger program. “Body Talk” explores scenes from plays by celebrated African-American playwrights. These storytellers and their role as the Griot in American theatre melds their words and songs with dance. The performance draws inspiration from prominent works including “Fences,” “For Colored Girls,” and “Their Eyes Were Watching God.”
