Dennis Stroughmatt and Creole Stomp are based in southern Illinois, or “Upper Louisiana”, according to the band. Dennis learned to speak French and play French Creole music before relocating to Louisiana. He formed Creole Stomp in 2002 and since then the band has carried the torch of French Creole music and culture across North America. With a unique sound that blends ancient and modern Mississippi River valley music. Creole Stomp is the “Real Deal” in Louisiana Creole Zydeco, Cajun, Blues, and New Orleans Swamp Pop.

FREE performances on Denison University’s Fine Arts Quad, 338 West Broadway, Granville (if rain – held in Burke Hall). Concerts will start at 6:30PM and will be a 90 minute set with no intermission. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Vehicles parked in the driveway leading to Burke Hall are subject to ticketing and/or towing. Performances may not be taped without the explicit permission of the artists.
