The Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps has been practicing on the Denison University Campus for the last few weeks and we are excited for them to perform the musical part of their show on the Denison Arts Quad Tuesday, June 7, 7:00 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public (rain date June 8, 7:00 p.m.). We are honored to be called home for The Bluecoats spring training the past 10 years.
The Bluecoats are a marching music education organization made up of 150 young men and women between the ages of 15 and 22. The Bluecoats were founded in 1972 and provide programs for youth in music and performance training. Leadership, personal, character and social development skills are emphasized through the challenge, excitement, and self-discipline presented by the corps through travel, competition, and pursuit of excellence.
Members of The Bluecoats rehearse up to 14 hours per day perfecting their 11- minute competitive program and all the hard work pays off as they have consistently placed in the elite “Top 12” since 1987, and placing 3rd place internationally in 2015.
We are always excited to have The Bluecoats at Denison and hope you can come and see what the excitement is all about! Stay tuned for any further performance dates for The Bluecoats before they head out to begin their competition season.
