Bike Swap to Benefit Pelotonia

The 3rd Annual Bike Swap to Benefit Pelotonia is scheduled to coincide with the Great Granville Garage Sale on Saturday, May 9. Hosted again by Denison University, the Swap will take place from 8:00AM - 12:00PM on the Fine Arts Quad at the intersection of Cherry and West Broadway Streets. If you have a bike or cycling accessories that you want out of the garage or basement, donate it for us to sell (100% of the proceeds will go to Pelotonia), or sell it on consignment (contribute a minimum of 20% of the proceeds to Pelotonia). In either case, you can designate the Pelotonia rider to whom you wish the funds from the sale of your bike to go. If you need a bike of any kind ? kids, mountain, vintage, bmx?s, Pelotonia-ready hybrids or road bikes ? we?ve had them all at previous Swaps, so come on by and check out this year?s inventory. Franklinton Cycle Works staff will conduct a workshop on selecting the right size bike and how to fit it to your body and riding style at 9:00AM. Bikes can be dropped off on Friday evening (May 8) from 6:00-8:00PM at Denison?s Burke Hall, or beginning at 7:00AM on Saturday morning. Bikes that do not sell will, with permission of the donor/owner, be donated to Freedom Wheels of the First Baptist Church of Newark, the United Church of Granville, or Franklinton Cycle Works, all of which have programs through which they fix up used bikes and give them to children and adults who otherwise could not afford them.
