Bancroft Lecture at Bryn Du

Why is the Bancroft name so important to Granville history?
 
Nationally renowned historian and book collector Hubert Howe Bancroft began his own story in Granville. His great-great-granddaughter, Kim Bancroft, who abridged her ancestor’s autobiography, titled “Literary Industries: Chasing a Vanishing West,” will speak about his Granville childhood, in a lecture taking place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 17, in the Bryn Du Mansion (537 Jones Road) The lecture, one of the Life/Local offerings which take place at the mansion, is free and open to the public.
